You & Me

I believe every person is worthy of being seen, known and deeply understood—my hope is that from our very first session together, you will experience that. Counseling will look slightly different depending on if you are coming as an adolescent, adult, or couple. However, the lens through which I see people and the theories I’ve chosen to incorporate into the therapy process will be the foundation of our work together regardless of which client-type you are. There may be times it is therapeutically beneficial for members of a family to be invited to join in an individual session and there may be times where a couple is seen for several sessions as individuals. Every person plays a role in how a family (however you define 'family') interacts together. We will work collaboratively toward healing. ____________ Our patterns (thoughts, feelings, and ways of interacting with ourselves and others) serve a purpose. They have motivations. They hold meanings. From these meanings, we build a story about our lives. Our patterns show up in family dynamics, important relationships and the experiences both in our past and present. Sometimes, we get stuck in our patterns, especially when we are experiencing anxiety, a difficult life transition, depression or conflict in relationship. I draw from principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and work through an attachment-based, narrative lens. It can be challenging to give ourselves grace, hold ourselves with compassion or tune into our own needs. You can expect me to hold a therapeutic space for you to experience security, connection and belonging while you learn how to live your life more fully, healthfully, and intentionally. ____________ Call for a 15 minute free consultation to ask any questions about my individual, couples or family therapy practices or discuss what counseling might look like for your situation. I offer both in-person and online therapy. Online therapy allows me to work beyond the limits of Spokane, serving clients located throughout Washington State. ____________ ABOUT ME I received my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Gonzaga University and am a nationally board-certified counselor, licensed in Washington, and a member of the American Counseling Association and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotion Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). I'm looking forward to meeting you!
